Having lived and worked in regional NSW for most of his life, John Ringland has a unique perspective on the challenges facing people and organisations which choose to operate.

After 15 years working as an inspector and manager for SafeWork NSW (previously called WorkCover NSW) in a regional setting, and a further two years managing risk and safety within local government at Tamworth Regional Council, John made the decision in 2023 to establish Ringland Consulting Pty Ltd.

Ringland Consulting is a small, agile consulting and advisory business that provides specialised work health and safety advice and outcomes to a wide range of professions and industries.

It counts as clients a wide variety of organisations including small local businesses, not-for-profit, organisations and a large state government department. However, the majority of Ringland Consulting clients are regional local government bodies.

Given John’s background, he has worked closely with many regional local councils providing a range of professional services including mentoring WHS and Risk staff; safety management system reviews; and WHS investigations.

John also provides training and advice to assist organisations proactively address WHS matters, such as the prevention and management of psychosocial hazards and risks in the workplace.
